There is so much competition and no guarantee you will have success, but there are some things you can do to increase your chances.

When selecting an affiliate marketing program make sure to select one that is related to your niche. It is difficult to promote a program that has nothing to do with what your site has to offer. If you think about it, why would someone come to your site looking for sports items and go to your gardening affiliate program?

Once you have found a program that is related to your niche, select a company that you believe you can promote successfully. You will find a site that interests you and you have faith in. It is much easier to promote something you are interested in.

Because of the numerous options you have to choose from, why not select the one that pays the best. There are some programs that offer 10% commission while others offer as much as 100% commission. An average commission rate to look for is around 35% and you should look no lower than that.

If you want to have success with an affiliate marketing program, there are several facets to look into. As long as you take the time to research you can find a legitimate program to promote. While researching find a program that is within your niche, a program you are interested in and select one that pays out with a high commission.
